Once our premier, 'Bell-of-the-Ball' calculator, the hub of our screen enclosure design series, this tool allowed for screen clients to pre-design enclosures for bidding and submission to the office in the wake of the 2004-2005 storm season. Once approved, it allowed the office to prepare site specific drawings at the push of a button, revolutionary, even today. The design rules of the screen industry changed since this tool was used which rendered it inactive for the 2006 building code
This tool morphs the roof of patio enclosures to a variety of configurations and allowed for the design of a multitude of aluminum carry beams to be designed (no longer code compliant).
What was unique about this calculator is the ability for the screen enclosure option to have a mansard beam be designed by use of a special popout dialog, proving very useful in many field applications.
Inaccurate as it stands due to the omission of other necessary table variables, this calculator was abandoned due to lack of client interest at the time. What this machine does do is help illustrate how easily our calculators can create span tables based on user inputted data via the Web for easy analysis of any complex formula. It's just food for thought...
This amazing machine was built by Andre Lopez and was the first of its kind to highlight not only engineering answers with the drawing, but also BILL OF MATERIALS with profitability and cost per square foot. Slated to have contractors input their costs, the tool was primarily used as an in-house design tool until the NDS wood and FBC building codes changed. Click ANCHORS for some amazing features!
Originally designed for internal use only, this 'web counterpart' to our Excel calculations provided a mobile answer to common screw capacity connections. Short lived due to complexity of the calculations and code changes, this tool was fortunately revived as a WIDGET by Keith Loranos. Find it in our WIDGET gallery for free use!
Code Named 'Bubbles' this calculator premiered 'progressive input' technology as we referred to it (since this wasn't invented before). This calculator was created by Cory Salzano, a talented intern that was with us in 2005. With this calculator, he achieved squeezing most of chapter 6 of ASCE 7 for buildings into one single Flash module.

A supplemental calculator in the screen enclosure design series calculations that earned us national acclaim (Google it!) for our rapid deployment of code compliant enclosure beam designs, this calculator provided properties of reactions and allowed sizing of members for lateral loading reinforcement (K-Braces) for screen enclosures. Originally written for a company, Star Steel, this tool inputted all of their order criteria for shop made welded buckets and columns and allowed their customers to interact with the options and provide the necessary bucket design including anchors, baseplate, etc. It also prepared the calcs and initiated the field order. Very useful until the company went out of business.
This calculator provided site specific real time design information for aluminum wall structures over a solid roof for a host of manufacturer types and conditions. Selecting page 2 brings up another screen which will actually draw the site specific sketch for you.
